Area of intervention
For LOHR, HAIKU DESIGN has designed a range of modular seats for installation in public transport vehicles.
The innovative concept offers different types of seating, from buttocks to benches and individual wide seats, on a single load-bearing structure that can be installed either transversely or longitudinally to the direction of travel, with no visible support. The way the seats and backrests are assembled and fixed means that they can be customised and covered with a wide range of vandal-resistant coverings, and a number of accessories such as handgrips and armrests can be fitted, making them quick and easy for maintenance operators to interchange.
This highly modular seat has been the subject of several international patent applications.
It has been installed on all the TRANSLOHR wheeled tramway ranges in operation with numerous operators around the world, including the RATP (T5 and T6 trams), as well as on the Cityval automatic metro demonstrator from SIEMENS Mobility and the Aptis bus demonstrator from NTL-Groupe Alstom.
